Bodong

We first met about 7 months ago, not too long for us to become best friends. He came to our home along with his father, that time he was just 3 or 4 months old I guess. At first, he was just a shy lil cat. He was hiding while his father roaming around looking for some foods. My mom who saw them first then gave them some snacks and water, no need a long time they have already been so close to us. Day after day they lived in our car port til one of our neighbors told us to adopt them. Since we already have two cats at home, so we approved his request. Two day after that, we heard a cat meowing continuously. I searched then I found that this lil cat from before was on our roof asking for help, but that time he was alone without his father. I wondered if he escaped from the neighbor's home just to go back here. My mom asked me to help him since he looked so scared to jump down, and that moment when I helped him was the first time he got forever home and became a part of our family.

We gave him some medical treatment  first like pirantel pamoat, antiflea, and antibiotics since he came back with a wound below his mouth. We wanted him to become an healthy cat so that he wouldn't bring disease to our Nyannyan and Kimi. Long story shortened, my mom called him "Bodong", and it became his name since he actually has a bulge of navel which called 'bodong' referred to Javanese language. He looked so glad with his new name. Everytime we called, he would come running then rubbed his head against our hand or feet.

Day by day passed by, he officially lived here in our home and his old wound below his mouth has already totally healed. We never discriminated him against the other two just because he was the only local domestic cat here, they got the same treat one another, so he was also given a necklace coloured blue which I thought it suits his fur color.  The most interesting thing about our togetherness is the fact that Bodong was so clever and loyal cat. He would come just by heard our call even when he was about too far and we couldn't see each other, just by a name called he would run to us. He would follow us when we wanted him to follow even without a harness, and he would move his ass out even when he was on sleep just because we ordered him to. He often brought us a present even it was just a random dry leafs, an insect, plastic bag, or whatever he got, just to show how he was grateful to live with us. He often meowing to called my mom to show something like it was a proof that he was a loyal kid. Amongst the 3 of cats, he became the most closest one to my dad that even made Nyannyan felt jealousy sometimes. Time flight, in about 2 months he became a handsome young-adult cat with so fine red fur and well muscled body. He even bravely fought a dog to protect a bowl of catfood in our porch. Yeah it was about our Bodong!

But sadly, this is the last day of him. After 5 days fought against distemper, finally he passed away right on the sixth day. The doctor said that the fifth day was the line between life and death for cats infected by panleukopenia. And he survived until that day.

He's such a hella strong boy. He even survived from a half death because of raticide before. But this time he prefer to go to the rainbow bridge. Maybe it's the best for him, he's no longer in pain.

Rest in peace my friend, Bodong,... See you when I see you on the rainbow bridge :')
